Godfrey & Kahn is proud to announce that Attorney Shannon Braun has been named a 2016 “Up and Coming Lawyer” by the Wisconsin Law Journal.

The “Up and Coming Lawyer” awards recognize attorneys with eight or less years of experience, who have handled challenging legal issues, taken steps to improve the justice system and given of themselves to their communities. Honorees were chosen for their initiative and zeal for the practice of law, as well as their commitment to community and the positive effect they have on the lives of those around them.

Shannon and the other “Up and Coming Lawyer” honorees were recognized in September at a celebratory reception at The Garage at the Harley-Davidson Museum.

Shannon is member of Godfrey & Kahn's Estate Planning Practice Group in the Milwaukee office. She works closely with her clients to help them achieve their financial goals while minimizing certain tax risks. Shannon represents a diverse client base that includes owners of closely held businesses, philanthropists and high net-worth individuals. She regularly provides legal advice on matters involving succession planning, sophisticated charitable giving, wealth transfer techniques, estate and gift taxation, fiduciary income taxation, marital property agreements and probate and trust administration.

Shannon received her bachelor’s degree, with distinction, from The University of Wisconsin Madison and earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
