Tim Smith is an associate on the Tax and Employee Benefits Practice Group in the Milwaukee office. He focuses his practice on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions, as well as tax structuring, planning, and controversy matters. Tim also advises mutual fund clients on a variety of regulated investment company tax issues including tax-free reorganizations, tax-free in-kind contributions, and maintenance of a fund's status as a regulated investment company.

While in law school, Tim served as a judicial intern on the Wisconsin Supreme Court for Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson and as an articles editor for the Wisconsin Law Review. Additionally, Tim worked as an intern for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue's Office of General Counsel and as a summer associate for Godfrey & Kahn.
