A combination of above average salaries, short commutes, low cost of living, and consistently low crime rates make Wisconsin a desirable place to live. The state hosts major-league sports teams, cultural and recreational opportunities, international corporate headquarters, and innovative start-up companies, all contributing to an excellent quality of life and practice.
Quality of Life. Recent national surveys show that while our standard of living is high, the cost of living is relatively low. It costs considerably more, for example, to buy an average home in the Chicago area, and two and one-half times more in New York and Los Angeles. Wisconsin is also a great place to raise a family. The state's schools, from grade school through graduate level, have been nationally recognized for their quality programs. Use the following cost of living calculators and quality of life comparisons to compare find out more about the cities in which our offices are located.
Sports, Arts, Festivals & Fun. The state offers spectator sports year-round, including the Brewers, Bucks, Wisconsin Badgers, and of course, the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. With numerous lakes throughout the state, boating, fishing, water-skiing, sailing and other water sports are also popular.
Wisconsin residents love to celebrate summer, and Milwaukee is known for its ethnic festivals and eleven-day Summerfest, one of the largest music festivals in the world. Orchestra, opera, ballet, theatre, Broadway musicals and the museums round out offerings for your sophisticated cultural tastes. According to Cindy Loose, Washington Post staff writer, "much [in Milwaukee] has changed, and for the better. In fact, if the old sitcom girls Laverne and Shirley returned to Milwaukee, they, like me, would barely recognize the place." Click here to view the entire Washington Post article lauding Milwaukee. The FINE LIVING channel named Madison, Wisconsin one of 10 More Perfect Places to Live in America in May 2005. "The best of the Midwest, Madison is so many good things wrapped into one. It has great natural beauty with its twin lakes, a huge, vibrant university and first-rate public schools. Its housing prices would make you smile. Great culture and a great sense of community."
