This annual seminar presented by the Godfrey & Kahn Labor & Employment team will focus on practical approaches to preventing and managing employment law problems. It is designed to provide employers with information concerning recent changes in labor and employment law and suggested strategies to deal with these changes.

Labor & Employment Law Update Learn about significant cases and legislative developments over the past year.

Family and Medical Leave Update The new federal FMLA regulations are out. Find out what they mean to you and your business, what significant changes they make to how you implement FMLA and the areas in which they disappoint employers.

The Employee Free Choice Act Find out how this legislation will drastically change the rules concerning forming a union at your company. This session will tell you what you need to know and more importantly what you need to be doing now.

Managing Human Capital in a Down Economy A panel of our experienced labor and employment lawyers will answer the most sought after legal questions raised by employers in these economic times, including reduced work strategies, temporary lay-offs, voluntary early retirement programs, reductions in force, severance agreements, benefit obligations, immigration issues and planning for the future economic up turn.

* We have applied for 3 recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). We have also applied for approval by the Board of Bar Examiners for 3 hours of use towards the Wisconsin mandatory CLE requirement.
