In March, Godfrey & Kahn hosted a series of Labor & Employment Law Seminars aimed to serve the needs of executives, human resource professionals, in-house counsel and front-line supervisors. The seminars focused on practical approaches to preventing and managing employment law problems and were further designed to provide employers with information concerning recent changes in labor and employment law and strategies to deal with these changes.

The 2012 seminars proved to be the highest attended year in the seminars' 23-year history, attracting over 350 attendees from around the state. The three seminars were held at Lambeau Field in Green Bay on March 20, the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison on March 21, and the Crowne Plaza in Wauwatosa on March 22.

The firm's Labor & Employment Law Practice Group presented a 2012 Labor & Employment law update, which provided attendees with the latest information on recent case law and legislative developments. They also presented several timely topics during two breakout sessions, including "Social Media: Are You Still my 'Friend'?" and "Managing the Alternative Workforce: Independent Contractors, Shared Employees and Temporary Workers" during the first breakout session. The second breakout session offered interactive discussions that covered the topics of "ADA Scenarios: A Hands-On Guide to Addressing Leave and Accommodation Requests" and "Internal Workplace Investigations and Audits: Staying a Step Ahead of Government Agencies and Plaintiffs' Attorneys."

Speakers from Godfrey & Kahn's Labor & Employment Law Practice Group included: Jon Anderson, Martina Gast, Rufino Gaytán III, John Haase, Wade Harrison, Scott LeBlanc, Christine Liu McLaughlin, John Kalter, Meg Kurlinski, Tom O'Day, Ron Pfeifer, Jim Prosser, Annie Raupp and Tom Shorter.
