Topic: Stimulus in Southeast Wisconsin: Where's the Money Going
Enacted more than nine months ago, the federal stimulus package continues to generate conflicting points of view. In a recent Forum/UWM survey of Greater Milwaukee residents, less than half considered the stimulus legislation a wise use of taxpayer funds, yet 64% thought their local governments should be aggressively seeking those dollars.
So, to what extent has stimulus made a difference in southeast Wisconsin so far, and what's on the horizon? What is the view of those who have actively sought stimulus funds on the program's regulations and effectiveness? Which areas of our economy and public infrastructure have and will benefit most, and which will reap the smallest gains?
This will be a discussion on the impacts of stimulus funding in southeast Wisconsin with leaders from the public and private sectors.
Speaker: Arthur J. Harrington
