Construction begins on 833 East buildingAugust 15, 2014
Godfrey & Kahn is excited to announce that construction has begun on the 833 East building, a 17-story office tower that the firm’s headquarters will move to upon completion of the project, expected in 2016. The new building will be located directly east of the US Bank building on Michigan Street in Milwaukee.
It has been nearly a decade since an office tower was built in downtown Milwaukee. The new building’s design is technology-driven for optimal IT access and energy efficiency and includes modern amenities, such as a fitness center for employees, a conference center accommodating up to 120 people, private exterior balconies, a restaurant on the ground level and a parking ramp with climate-controlled stalls.
In line with the firm’s efforts to strengthen its ongoing commitment to environmentally conscious growth and expand green initiatives already in place, bicycle parking and a bike-share transfer point will also be featured at the new location.
A groundbreaking ceremony took place in June and featured speakers including Governor Scott Walker, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, Department of City Development Commissioner Rocky Marcoux and Godfrey & Kahn’s Managing Partner Nic Wahl.
