Godfrey & Kahn Adds Two AttorneysDecember 20, 2004
The law firm of Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. has added two attorneys: James T. Prosser of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group in the Appleton Office and Jynine A. Strand of the Real Estate Practice Group in the Waukesha office, who will practice in the Appleton office as well as the Madison office, LaFollette Godfrey & Kahn.
James T. Prosser
Prosser’s practice primarily focuses on business, insurance and employment law. Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, Prosser served as General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Administrative Officer at Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company in Neenah, Wisconsin. He was responsible for all legal issues, as well as supervision of six functional areas, strategic planning and overall company leadership.
Previously, Prosser practiced at the law firm of Remley & Sensenbrennner, S.C. in Neenah, Wisconsin. He developed a broad client base in multiple practice areas, with a focus on business law, employment law, land use and zoning, and litigation.
Prosser is a member and Secretary of the Theda Clark Foundation Board, President of the Neenah Police Commission and member of the Neenah-Menasha Joint Fire Commission. In addition, he serves on the Neenah-Menasha YMCA Endowment Fund Committee. Prosser received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Jynine A. Strand
Strand’s law practice focuses on real estate matters, including construction law, sales and acquisitions, financing, leasing and exchanging residential and commercial projects. She has extensive experience negotiating and drafting purchase agreements, construction contracts, leases and financial documents. Clients include individuals, construction companies, architectural companies, lenders and corporations.
Strand authored a chapter on "Mortgages" for the Fourth Edition of Wisconsin Practice Series™ - Methods of Practice (©2004 West Publications) and has presented seminars on real estate topics for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Adult Education Series and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She is an Arbitrator for Ford Motor Company, a Trustee for the Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum, and actively involved with Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds, Inc. as Auction Committee Chairperson for the organization’s annual Black Tie Dinner Ball.
Strand is active in the Real Estate Section of the Waukesha County Bar Association and is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, American Bar Association, Association for Women Lawyers, Thomas E. Fairchild Inns of Court, and the American Inns of Court. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Finance (with honors) from the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh and her law degree from Marquette University Law School.
