MADISON, WIS. (July 7, 2015) --Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. is proud to announce Nathan J. Zolik has joined its Political Law and Environment & Energy Strategies Practice Groups in the firm’s Madison office.

Zolik advises clients in their interactions with government. He represents regulated entities in administrative proceedings, helps develop legislative and administrative rulemaking proposals, provides counsel on government procurement, and guides clients through ethics, lobbying law, and campaign finance regulation.

Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, Zolik was the chief of staff and a senior advisor at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin – the state agency charged with regulating electric, natural gas and water utilities. He oversaw all operations of the Commission, provided counsel on contested case matters, helped craft and implement administrative rules and guided the agency’s regulatory policy development. Zolik also was chief legal counsel to former Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle, and before that, he was a commercial litigator at a large law firm in New York City.

Zolik earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.
