MADISON, WIS. (Feb. 8, 2013) ─ Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. is pleased to announce that attorneys C. Wade Harrison and Jed A. Roher were 2013 recipients of InBusiness Madison's elite 40 UNDER 40 award.
Annually, InBusiness Magazine's editorial department selects 40 business professionals or nonprofit leaders under the age of 40 to be honored in its 40 UNDER 40 listing. The final selection of the honorees is based on demonstrated success in their industry, an active role and commitment to furthering their industry, and volunteer or board membership that enhances the Greater Madison community.
Harrison is a member of the firm's Labor, Employment & Immigration and Health Care Practice Groups in the Madison office. His practice involves advising and representing both private and public employers in a variety of labor and employment matters. Among other things, Harrison focuses primarily on counseling regarding and defending against employment discrimination and civil rights claims (including unlawful harassment and race, age, sex, disability and other discrimination matters), family and medical leave issues, and wrongful discharge claims. In addition, he provides counseling to employers on the full range of human resource and employment law challenges confronted by public and private sector employers, including the hiring and firing of employees, drafting and enforcing restrictive covenant agreements, litigating federal and state discrimination and wage claims, conducting unlawful harassment investigations, and drafting employment and severance agreements.
Harrison received his bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Loyola University of Chicago and earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
Roher is a member of the firm's Tax & Employee Benefits and Corporate Practice Groups. Based primarily in the firm's Madison office, he also spends significant time in the Milwaukee office. Roher serves clients in a number of roles. His tax experience allows him to help clients understand - and structure transactions to achieve or avoid - the tax ramifications of specific transactions, including financing transactions, equity rollovers and taxable and tax-free acquisitions and exits. His corporate experience allows him to also step into much broader capacities, ranging from general counsel to the negotiation and implementation of licensing, financing and acquisition documents.
Roher received his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Yale University and earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from New York University Law School.
