"G&K Sponsors 39th Annual LEO Banquet"
April 01, 2008
Godfrey & Kahn sponsored the University of Wisconsin Law School's 39th Annual Legal Education Opportunities (LEO) Banquet on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the Concourse Hotel in Madison, Wis. Several G&K attorneys and summer associates attended the event and helped celebrate the organization's achievements.
The Hon. William J. Haddad of the Circuit Court of Cook County in Illinois was the featured guest speaker. Prior to his judicial appointment, Haddad was partner with Haddad, Schlack & Associates. He began his legal career as the state's assistant attorney of Cook County. His professional experience includes serving as President and Founder of the Suburban Bar Coalition of Cook County, Founding Chair of the Illinois Laws Consortium for Palestinian Legal Education (USAID), and member of the 2002 Illinois Governor-Elect Rod Blagojevich's Transition Team.
The University of Wisconsin Law School's LEO Program was established in 1967 to encourage diversity within the student body through recruiting efforts. Each year, students, faculty and alumni gather at the annual banquet to celebrate the program's successes and commitment to graduating a diverse group of attorneys. As a testament to the efforts of the program, 25% of the students at the University of Wisconsin Law School are diverse.
