Seventh Circuit Affirms Summary Judgment for Gannett (Media Law Resource Center)

Brian Spahn’s article covers the recent Seventh Circuit decision in Financial Fiduciaries, LLC and Thomas Batterman v. Gannett Co., Inc, in which the court held that the allegedly defamatory statements at issue failed to state a defamation claim as they were both substantially true and privileged. Mr. Spahn led the Godfrey & Kahn team that represented Gannett Co. in the case.
