Internal fraud costs corporations billions of dollars each year. Learn about warning signs you should watch for and measures you can take to prevent your company from being the next victim of internal embezzlement or defalcation. Presenters Jeff Frank, Dan Flaherty and Joe Thornton will discuss their experiences in criminal investigations, prosecution and corporation investigations.

Jeff Frank, Executive Director of Corporate Security at M&I Marshall & Ilsley Corporation coordinates security activity for this multi-state banking company. Prior to his employment at M&I, Jeff was a Supervisory Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and oversaw the white collar crime division of the FBI in Wisconsin. In his capacity as a Special Agent with the FBI, Jeff participated in hundreds of white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions, including internal corporate frauds.

Dan Flaherty is a shareholder at Godfrey & Kahn where he heads the state-wide litigation team of more than 40 lawyers. Prior to his employment at Godfrey & Kahn, Dan was a Federal Prosecutor with the United States Department of Justice. As a Federal Prosecutor, Dan was responsible for white collar criminal cases, including internal corporate fraud.

Joe Thornton is a shareholder at Godfrey & Kahn. Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, Joe had served as General Counsel for Krause Publications and Tribune Company’s publishing group. Both in his capacity as in-house counsel and in his private practice experience, Joe has conducted internal corporate investigations relating to criminal and ethical violations.
