Why Your Organization Should Adopt a Climate Change Strategy Now, a webinar hosted by Godfrey & Kahn

June 27, 2007 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. CST
Join us for a seminar to discuss the status of climate change law and opportunities for creating business value through energy and carbon reduction strategies.

Terry Tamminen, Director of the Climate Policy Program of the New America Foundation, will serve as the keynote speaker. As Secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency and Cabinet Secretary to Governor Schwarzenegger, Mr. Tamminen was a key state official responsible for the development of the progressive climate change program recently adopted by the state. California is one of the first states in the U.S. to address this issue.

  • Art Harrington, Godfrey & Kahn attorney, will kick off the program with an overview of recent developments in climate change.
  • David Gilles, Godfrey & Kahn attorney and former General Counsel to the Wisconsin Public Service Commission, will discuss Wisconsin Act 141 and opportunities the act presents to energy users in Wisconsin. (The act relates to programs that promote energy efficiency and energy that is derived from renewable resources and applicable state energy policies.)
  • Caroline Garber, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Program Manager for the Bureau of Air Management, will explain the role of DNR for facilitating voluntary green house gas reductions through registrations and other support activities.
  • John Clancy, Godfrey & Kahn attorney, will discuss innovative voluntary climate change strategies companies can adopt that benefit not only the environment but the bottom line. You can attend this seminar without leaving your office.
