Indian Nations Law Update - March 2012

Godfrey & Kahn Sponsors Green Energy Summit
Godfrey and Kahn, S.C. is privileged to be a sponsor of the 2012 Green Energy Summit scheduled for March 7 - 9 at the Frontier Airlines Convention Center in Milwaukee. This annual event represents an unique level of cooperation across the corporate and academic spectrum. In addition to Godfrey & Kahn, other sponsors include: Johnson Controls, We Energies, the Wisconsin Technical College System, the University of Wisconsin System, Marquette University, Concordia University Wisconsin, the Department of Energy and Focus on Energy. Milwaukee Area Technical College is the host institution.

Arthur Harrington, Godfrey & Kahn's Renewable Energy Practice Group leader, will moderate a BioGas Forum featuring five experts, who will focus on biogas development opportunities and challenges in the finance, agriculture, food processing and public sectors. Godfrey & Kahn works with tribes to develop renewable energy resources as one component of a comprehensive Seven Generations-based green strategy that also includes environmental protection and energy efficiency. Godfrey & Kahn Hosts 23rd Annual Labor and Employment Conference
Godfrey & Kahn's Labor & Employment Law Practice Group will present its annual Labor and Employment Law Conference in March at three locations throughout the state of Wisconsin. The seminar will include an update on recent changes in federal and state employment law and discussions of best practices and practical approaches to managing employment law problems. The seminar, which is offered free of charge, is designed to serve the needs of executives, in-house counsel, human resource professionals and front-line supervisors. Godfrey & Kahn has applied for 3 credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). We have applied for approval by the Board of Bar Examiners for 3 hours credit toward the Wisconsin mandatory CLE requirements.
