Michael's practice focused on health care clients, including hospitals and health systems, physicians, health insurers, health technology companies, and investors in the health and technology sectors. He has also represented numerous technology start-up companies spun off from University of Wisconsin-Madison research programs.
His work included mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and provider and information networks. He advised clients on debt and equity financings, tax structuring, corporate governance, technology licensing and transfer, and on health regulatory compliance matters under the Stark and Anti-Kickback Laws, the False Claims Act, the Civil Monetary Penalty Law, and on Medicare payment matters.
