Being immersed in our communities means following our passion for being connected and building relationships around the causes that matter to us. We invest our time, talent, and resources to continue our long tradition of providing holistic support to local organizations.
We believe it is essential for our firm to give back to the community. Local connections backed by significant financial support enable us to make a larger positive impact. Community involvement at the firm has always taken a full-circle approach that integrates financial giving with leadership on boards and committees, sponsorship and volunteerism in virtually unlimited ways.
We believe the legal community has a responsibility to ensure all citizens have access to legal representation and that the justice system operates fairly. Our attorneys contribute thousands of pro bono hours each year to organizations such as the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association, Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee, and many more.
In addition, we staff the Milwaukee Justice Center’s Mobile Legal Clinic with volunteer attorneys. The Mobile Legal Clinic provides legal advice to Milwaukee-area residents on family law, landlord-tenant issues, small and large claims, and credit-consumer issues.
We encourage our people to actively contribute to the causes they care about. The firm supports employee-driven participation on boards and committees, and financial sponsorships and gifts in communities across Wisconsin. We have long been committed to organizations working to advance arts and culture, education, the environment, health care, social services, children with special needs, animal welfare, and more.
In 2022, Godfrey & Kahn was invited into Marquette University's Founders Society for giving that has exceeded $1 million. We're proud of our commitment and believe deeply in advancing Marquette University’s mission to "Be The Difference."
We partner with schools in Wisconsin to offer internship opportunities, mentoring, and financial sponsorship for students. Some of our partners include Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, Carmen High School of Science & Technology, All-In Milwaukee, Milwaukee College Prep, University of Wisconsin Law School, and Marquette University Law School.
We’re breaking down barriers to careers in the legal industry by welcoming students into an environment where they have hands-on work experience.
