The growing regulatory focus on PFAs, as “emerging contaminants” poses new challenges for industry, municipalities, property owners, or property-developers that currently or previously contained PFAs. At this session, you will explore the issues associated with PFAs and gain a working knowledge of them, their regulation, and litigation resulting from PFAs. Topics include:
- The unique chemical and toxicological properties of PFAS
- Commercial uses and sources of PFAS
- Impact to the environment
- Current regulation of PFAS in Wisconsin, including under the Wisconsin Voluntary Party Liability Exemption (VPLE) program
- Existing and anticipated litigation from PFAS
