Significant works of art, collectible jewelry, and antique furniture can individually or as a collection represent an important asset of the estate, but due to their inherent portability, also represent a risk of loss. These items may have sentimental or emotional value, and significant, but unknown, financial value; a combination which makes them ripe for intra-family tension, mistrust, and perhaps even litigation. A panel of local experts will discuss the issues revolving around unique assets in estate planning including issues of traceability, valuation, and management.
