This panel presentation will provide an overview of the $7.5 billion investment in Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure included in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). This Law provides funding to develop a network of 500,000 EV chargers by 2030 and promises to put the U.S. on a path to net-zero emissions from transportation. Wisconsin can receive $79 million in formula funding over the next five years, plus additional discretionary funding to provide reliable and affordable EV charging for all. This workshop covers the key aspects of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program and the opportunities and challenges of this historic investment.
