MILWAUKEE (April 23, 2026) – Godfrey & Kahn is proud to announce that Shannon Braun has been named a 2026 “Women in the Law” honoree by Wisconsin Law Journal. She is one of 30 attorneys selected from across Wisconsin’s legal community for this recognition. The Women in the Law award recognizes outstanding attorneys across Wisconsin for their professional excellence, leadership and meaningful contributions to the legal profession and their communities.

Braun is a shareholder in the firm’s Estates & Trusts and Estate, Trust and Fiduciary Litigation practices. She assists clients in developing, implementing and managing comprehensive plans to achieve their goals related to the preservation and tax-efficient transfer of wealth. As part of her approach, Braun regularly collaborates with outside professional advisors in a team-based setting to deliver tailored solutions.

She has extensive experience advising clients on business succession planning, charitable giving, estate and gift taxation, fiduciary income taxation, marital property agreements, and probate and trust administration. Working closely with litigation colleagues, Braun represents and counsels individual and corporate fiduciaries and beneficiaries in estate and trust disputes. She also advises corporate fiduciaries and trust administrators with respect to the resolution of substantive trust, tax and accounting matters, and supports both public and private trust companies in managing ongoing operations. Braun’s collaborative approach enables her to achieve creative and practical solutions while guiding clients through complex issues and family dynamics.

Braun is a frequent speaker on topics including business succession planning, charitable giving and wealth transfer techniques. She has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she taught a course on the use of trusts in estate planning. In addition, she is actively involved in the community and within the firm, serving on a number of boards and firm committees.
