The City of Milwaukee’s Commissioner of Health issued the much anticipated "Stay-at-Home" order this morning, Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

In an effort to slow the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19), this citywide order directs individuals to self-isolate in their residences to the maximum extent feasible. In his latest public briefing, Mayor Barrett highlighted the fact that the City of Milwaukee has more COVID-19 cases than any other city in Wisconsin.

Similar to surrounding states’ “shelter-in-place” orders, the City of Milwaukee’s order exempts businesses deemed “essential businesses” and provides a comprehensive list.

This order is effective beginning on March 25, 2020 at 12:01 a.m. and will continue until directed by the Commissioner of Health.
