Typing on computerOn Sept. 27, 2018, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) announced that Wisconsin will be the first state in the nation to allow employers to appeal unemployment determinations through an online portal.

State unemployment insurance agencies partnered with the U.S. Department of Labor to develop the Unemployment Insurance State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES). SIDES is a web-based system that allows electronic transmission of information requests from unemployment insurance (UI) agencies to employers and/or Third-Party Administrators and transmission of replies to UI agencies.

Through SIDES, Wisconsin employers may create a login ID, access their UI account and respond to the following forms online:

  • UCB-16 - Separation Notice;
  • UCB-20 – Determination;
  • UCF-350-4 - Weekly Earnings Audit;
  • UCF-17275 - Weekly Earnings Audit; and
  • UCF-17275-3 - Weekly Earnings Audit SDNH.

Additional information regarding SIDES is available on the DWD Webpage.
