Meet Carrie

Carrie is an attorney in the firm’s Milwaukee office and a member of the Corporate and Health Care practices. She has more than 20 years of experience in health care law, compliance and executive leadership, representing hospitals, health systems and physician organizations in complex regulatory and transactional matters.

Carrie advises clients on fraud and abuse compliance, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, EMTALA, HIPAA and privacy, licensure and accreditation, medical staff issues and corporate structuring. She also counsels providers on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, system affiliations and governance matters.

Carrie offers a distinctive perspective shaped by her experience as outside counsel, in-house counsel and as a senior health system executive. Earlier in her career, she was a partner in a national health law practice and served as in-house counsel to a multi-state health system. She later held senior leadership roles with Aurora Health Care, including President of Aurora Sinai Medical Center. Most recently, she served as President of Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center and the Greater Milwaukee Patient Service Area, overseeing multibillion-dollar operations across hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and clinics.

In addition to her practice, Carrie is a part-time instructor at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where she teaches Health Law & Ethics and Health Policy & Politics in the graduate Master in Health Administration and Master in Business Administration programs.
