Meet Liz
Elizabeth (Liz) Johnson is an associate in the Milwaukee office and a member of the Real Estate practice. Liz's practice involves negotiating commercial leases on behalf of both tenants and landlords for office, retail, restaurant and industrial space throughout the U.S.; assisting lenders and borrowers in complex loan transactions; representing a variety of clients in the purchase and sale of all types of real estate assets; negotiating long-term lease and facility management agreements for stadium complexes; advising clients on the real estate aspects of M&A transactions; and representing for-profit and non-profit developers in connection with affordable housing and other real estate development projects. Additionally, Liz has significant experience representing religious organizations in the disposition of their properties, which often involves addressing unique canon law and land use matters.
At Godfrey & Kahn, Liz serves as the chair of the firm’s Summer Associate Committee, and is an active participant in the Women’s Leadership Forum.
Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, Liz served as a summer law clerk for The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company and interned for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Liz was also a Managing Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review.
