Meet Kelsey
Kelsey Schanke is an associate in the Milwaukee office and a member of the Corporate practice. Kelsey’s practice focuses on various aspects of corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial contract drafting and negotiations, legal implementation of corporate restructurings and corporate governance matters representing companies of various sizes and industries. Her work focuses on representing family-owned and other privately-held businesses.
In the transactional area of her practice, Kelsey enjoys being deeply involved in every stage of a transaction and providing practical, hands-on guidance from inception to completion. She also enjoys functioning in an outside counsel capacity, providing ongoing legal support and strategic advice to help clients navigate day-to-day business challenges.
Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, Kelsey worked at the New York Legal Assistance Group as a Matrimonial and Family Unit Mediation Project Intern. While in law school, Kelsey also worked as a pro bono volunteer at the Milwaukee Justice Center. She received the certificate of dispute resolution and was involved as a member and leader in the Dispute Resolution Society and Client Skills Board throughout law school. Additionally, Kelsey was a member of the Marquette Law Review and was a Comment Editor during her third year.
Kelsey volunteers with the Sojourner Family Peace Center Pro Bono Clinic and participated in Godfrey & Kahn’s Afghan Asylum project. In her free time, Kelsey is an avid equestrian.
