Andrew was the first presenter at the American Bar Association Consumer Financial Services Committee's winter meeting in 2024. On this panel, Andrew provided a primer on third-party risk, covering past and present focus areas of examiners, the interagency guidance issued in June 2023, market practice around vendor management policies and procedures, challenges in implementing either too little and too much risk control, and how legal counsel can guide the process in both buy-side and sell-side transactions.

These issues included trends in loss prevention use cases, including altered checks and shared credentials; the effectiveness of customer education to protect themselves from fraud; and CFPB’s interest in supervising the market for digital wallets.
