Meet Andrew
Andrew Spillane is a shareholder in the Banking and Data Privacy, Cybersecurity & Technology practices in the Milwaukee office. Andrew has focused his legal career in the banking industry, working primarily with depository institutions and financial technology providers.
Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, Andrew was associate general counsel at a Milwaukee-area bank. In that role, he provided legal support for the bank’s deposit, small-dollar lending, and mortgage business lines, day-to-day operations, information technology, procurement, anti-money laundering, enterprise risk management, regulatory affairs, and compliance functions. Andrew also counsels non-bank clients that partner with financial services providers, including on matters involving merchant processing, buy now pay later offerings, and indirect lending and dealer financing programs.
Throughout his career, Andrew has supported numerous technology initiatives, through designing and negotiating agreements for end user terms, managed information technology services, hosting solutions, electronic data interchange, IT staffing and consulting, artificial intelligence and data analytics, software development projects, integration relationships, and reseller and distribution channels, as well as providing leadership during implementation of new solutions and engagement termination and de-conversion. Andrew’s financial services experience informs these projects, both in terms of regulatory needs and market practice.
