MILWAUKEE (May 12, 2015) ? Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. is pleased to announce that Tax & Employee Benefits Attorneys Lecia Johnson and Timothy Smith have been named Professional Advisors of the Year by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. The award recognizes the important role of professional advisers in building relationships with the Foundation and helping their clients create charitable funds for the benefit of the community.
Johnson and Smith were recognized May 12 at the Foundation’s annual Herbert J. Mueller Society luncheon for their key contributions to the stewardship of Sen. Herb Kohl’s historic $100 million gift to the Foundation in December.
The Herbert J. Mueller Society acknowledges the efforts of professional advisers who are committed to their clients, philanthropy and the community. The society is named in memory of Herbert Mueller, a local estate planning attorney who, through his quiet efforts, helped shape the Foundation into the strong, stable and successful organization it is today. By the time of his death in 2001 at age 91, Mueller had worked with his clients to start more than a dozen Foundation funds with gifts totaling nearly $50 million.
