Meet Erin
Erin Ella Block is an attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice, with over eight years of experience advising clients on patent prosecution, litigation, and strategic portfolio development. A registered patent attorney with a background in computer science, Erin offers sophisticated legal counsel informed by deep technical knowledge—particularly in software, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, control systems, and cybersecurity.
Erin has represented clients in complex patent disputes, including a multi-million-dollar cybersecurity infringement litigation where she led code analysis and contributed to claim construction, expert report development, and deposition preparation. She also counsels companies on patent portfolio strategy, helping them protect, manage, and maximize the value of their intellectual property assets.
Her practice extends beyond patents to include copyrights, trademarks, licensing, and data privacy. Erin regularly advises startups and emerging technology companies, providing forward-looking guidance tailored to fast-evolving markets.
While in law school, Erin served as Lead Articles Editor of the Marquette Intellectual Property Law Review and was published for her work in IP law. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science.
