Meet Mark
Mark Thomson is an associate on Godfrey & Kahn’s Litigation team. Mark represents a wide variety of clients at all stages of litigation, from pre-suit investigation all the way to appeal. As a member of Godfrey & Kahn’s Government and White Collar Investigations team, Mark regularly advises individuals and businesses who find themselves the subject of a state or federal government investigation. He specializes in assisting clients with their strategy in responding to subpoenas, civil investigative demands, and lawsuits.
Mark also maintains a robust fiduciary litigation practice. He routinely represents trust beneficiaries in matters related to trustee liability, fiduciary removal, and other trust-related proceedings. Mark represents clients in probate court and is familiar with the unique probate court procedures. He often litigates matters involving sensitive family disputes and/or complex legal issues.
Mark presented at the firm’s most recent Corporate Counsel Symposium where he analyzed recent case law developments on attorney client privilege and the attorney-work product doctrine.
Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, Mark was a former Deputy District Attorney in Santa Clara County, California, where he tried 10 jury trials and one court trial to verdict. He was also an Assistant District Attorney in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, where he tried four jury trials and one court trial to verdict.
