MILWAUKEE & MADISON (Aug. 5, 2013) -- Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. is proud to announce that attorney shareholder Katherine Stadler is one of 27 female members of Wisconsin's legal community to be named a 2013 recipient of the Wisconsin Law Journal's elite Women in the Law award.

The Women in the Law award honors extraordinary women attorneys, judges and legal educators based on the following criteria:

  • Women attorneys who have achieved excellence in their respective fields and have influenced other women to pursue legal careers;
  • Candidates who have opened doors for women lawyers in a variety of job settings that historically were closed to women;
  • Those who have advanced opportunities for women within a practice area or segment of the profession; and
  • Those who have otherwise served their profession or community in a manner that has benefited the legal profession.

Stadler and the other Women in the Law recipients were honored at a celebratory event June 26 at the Pfister Hotel.

Stadler is a shareholder in Godfrey & Kahn's Business, Finance & Restructuring and Litigation Practice Groups. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and New York as well as various other federal, state and local bar associations. A significant portion of her practice has been state and federal appellate work, including advocacy in both the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Stadler is experienced in representing both Chapter 11 Debtors-in-Possession and Chapter 7 Trustees in large commercial bankruptcies.
