David Patzer is the chair of Godfrey & Kahn’s Estate Planning Practice Group in the Milwaukee office and co-Chair of the firm’s Fiduciary Litigation Practice Group.
His areas of practice include fiduciary income taxation, estate and gift taxation, probate administration, and the preparation of marital agreements, wills, trusts and other estate planning instruments. Dave often implores estate planning techniques focused on leveraging the use of available tax exemptions including Family Limited Partnerships, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Charitable Remainder Trusts, sales to defective Grantor Trusts and the creation and administration of family foundations. He works closely with the firm’s Corporate Practice Group on business succession matters for many of our closely held clients.
