2019 Highlights:

• Represented clients in patent infringement litigation involving a wide variety of technologies including archery accessories, ceiling fans, furniture, hardware, mobile phone accessories, software, supercomputers and traffic management systems.
   
• Conducted a trial before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board opposing registration of GRUYERE as a certification mark to designate the style of cheese as only originating from certain regions in France and Switzerland.
   
• A first-of-its-kind claim amendment in an IPR proceeding to defeat a competitor’s allegation of patent invalidity.
   
• Defeated a motion for a TRO with just 24 hours’ notice in a trademark infringement lawsuit in the Central District of California.
   
• Represented the US Open Pickleball Championships in their full range of IP needs.
   
• Petitioned the Wisconsin Supreme Court to hear a trademark infringement case involving state trademark law.
   
• Successfully resolved claims for many of Wisconsin’s most notable companies involving bad faith trademark filings and from patent and copyright trolls.
   
• Patent and trademark portfolio management for clients in industries including automotive, bicycles, sporting goods, software, health technology, education, consumer goods, packaging equipment, toys and lighting.
   
• Diligence on large IP portfolios and negotiated IP provisions of numerous mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions cumulatively totaling billions of dollars.
   
• Filed, maintained and counseled clients on patent and trademark filings in more than 80 countries.
