Meet Katie
Katie Mills Ybarra is a shareholder in the firm’s Milwaukee office and a member of the Labor, Employment & Immigration practice. Katie’s practice includes advising clients on a wide variety of day-to-day employment matters, including administering federal and state family and medical leave laws, disability accommodations, and wage and hour matters. Katie also guides clients through the employment process, beginning at the recruiting and hiring process and continuing through disciplinary issues and termination.
In addition, Katie routinely drafts employee handbooks and policies, as well as employment, severance and restrictive covenant agreements. She provides guidance related to affirmative action plans and assists clients in evaluating and compiling their plans. Katie’s practice also includes providing guidance on employment-related corporate transaction issues, involving employment due diligence.
Katie graduated from Marquette University Law School, where she was a Comment Editor for the Marquette Intellectual Property Law Review. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to law school, Katie worked in the Chancellor’s Office of the University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin-Extension.
