Meet Nicholas

Nick Bezier is an associate on Godfrey & Kahn’s Litigation team who helps businesses assess risk, resolve disputes, and protect their commercial relationships. He represents clients at every stage of a dispute, from pre-suit investigation and strategy through trial and appeal, with a particular focus on companies that operate through dealership, distribution, franchise, and other reseller networks.

As a member of the firm’s Distribution and Dealership team, Nick advises manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, and distributors on the full lifecycle of their relationships. His practice includes dealership and distribution agreement review, network management, default and cure strategies, termination planning, and litigation avoidance. He also assists with transactional diligence and post-closing strategy when acquisitions involve dealer or distributor networks.

Nick has deep experience with the Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law (WFDL), the Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Dealer Law (WMVDL), equipment buyback statutes, and other state laws governing supplier-reseller relationships. When disputes cannot be avoided, he advocates for clients in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings. Nick also serves as Wisconsin counsel for national manufacturers and law firms that need focused WFDL advice before or during litigation.

Nick’s counseling practice also includes antitrust issues that arise in distribution systems, including minimum advertised price and resale price maintenance policies, pricing communications, and trade association conduct. This combination of litigation experience and practical counseling allows him to help clients structure and manage distribution networks with an eye toward both business objectives and dispute prevention.

Nick currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Pro Bono Committee of the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association. Nick also serves on the Board of Directors of the Ice Age Trail Alliance and co-chairs its Governance Committee.

Prior to joining the firm, Nick interned with the Honorable William M. Conley, U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Wisconsin. He also interned with the Office of the Solicitor General within the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
