Services for Hospitals and Systems
As counsel for hospitals and other health care facilities, we assist our clients in planning and executing corporate restructurings, mergers, acquisitions, affiliations and joint ventures. We regularly advise our clients on physician recruitment, employment and compensation matters; negotiate contracts for new information systems and other technologies; counsel clients on the implementation and meaningful use of electronic medical records systems; and represent hospitals in hearings relating to credentials review and privileging. Our clients seek our advice on issues relating to regulatory compliance, patient care, medical staff and peer review. We also prepare and negotiate managed care contracts and provide advice on a wide range of billing and reimbursement issues, serving both as corporate counsel and bond counsel in health care financings.
Services for Physicians
Godfrey & Kahn assists our physician clients in organizing specialty and multi-specialty practice groups, and we help physicians manage joint venture specialty hospitals in purchasing, selling and merging medical and dental practices. We negotiate physician provider agreements with payers and provide advice on billing and payment matters. We advise physicians on employment, compensation and benefits matters, non-compete agreements and licensing and credentialing issues. We help physicians establish joint venture specialty hospitals, free-standing diagnostic facilities and ambulatory surgery centers. Our physician clients also seek our counsel on real estate, tax, investment and financing matters, including advice on tax benefits and regulatory compliance.
